Southwest Travel Funds - Less than Helpful Customer Service Response



Originally contacted Southwest Airlines customer service about why when I look in my account I can't see my available travel funds.  My question to Southwest was why must I track available Southwest Travel Funds outside of the website, such as in email, in a spreadsheet, or on scratch paper.  Below is the lame response I got from them .  Regardless of what Southwest says, the real reason is that they don't want fliers easily access this information because the easier it is to access the more likely they (the customer will use their travel funds).

We apologize, at this time, beyond the fund balances tied to individual confirmation numbers online, we don’t currently provide a system for Customers to store and manage available funds in their Rapid Rewards accounts, but we appreciate your suggestion.Give us a call if you need assistance locating your available unused flight credit at 1-800-I-FLY-SWA (1-800-435-9792).  We hope to welcome you onboard very soon!
